Decking has become increasingly popular over the last few years and at BG Timber Ltd we have become experts in advising customers on decking specification. With the launch, this year, of Richard Burbidges' new "Fusion" range it is effortless to add a contemporary twist to your garden.
Decking is a great way to make practical use of slopes in gardens by creating different levels and steps. It is also fantastic for covering up unwanted surfaces. The deck boards can be laid in patterns or at angles creating texture and adding interest to your deck surface.
All our deck boards are pressure treated to protect the timber against decay and need little maintenance. We do, however, strongly recommend that your deck is oiled at least once a year. This protects the timber, treats and nourishes it. We can supply decking oil and currently stock the Cuprinol range
Ground level decks can be left plain or can be enhanced with a vast range of edgings, balustrades and panels. The edgings are designed in rope or chain and can be used on pathways as well as edging for decks. Balustrades can look equally stunning on ground level decks.
Above ground level decks really must have some form of balustrade and for any deck above 600mm above ground it is an essential requirement. We can supply a traditional range made up of Colonial, European or American designs using posts, rails and balustrades. These can be mixed with metal balustrades or timber/metal panels giving an elegant and fashionable finish to your deck. The timber panels are designed in a wide variety of styles including sunburst, diamond and topiary tree design.
Contemporary and the ultra modern "Fusion" range are a perfect way to give your garden the "Wow" factor. "Fusion" comes in a dramatic range of glass, metal and wood whilst the contemporary range is modern and streamlined using metal support brackets.
At BG Timber we hold an extensive stock of decking and accessories and hold booklets and pamphlets of all the styles and designs available. The decking brochures even hold instructions of how to install your deck!!
